Symptom: When calibrating I can't get passed coarse wheel angle sensor (WAS). Receive error with no explanation.
Cause: Possible wheel angle sensor outside of parameters (250-4750).
Resolution: The wheel angle sensor has left, right and center figures which help the Plus1 steering controller determine the angle of the front tires. Check installation of WAS housing and ensure free play at arm. If possible, watch the WAS when you turn left and right to ensure the arm is not inverting, or binding up. Adjust the housing as needed. Re-calibrate Course WAS. The Left and right should be within 250-4750 and the center number should be in between left and right figures. Example:
(Left) 4135
(Center) 2805
(Right) 1110
If not, adjust the black sensor an 1/8 of an inch in the opposite direction by loosening the two bolts that pass through the sensor and housing and re-tighten the two bolts. Re-calibrate to verify numbers are within parameters. For more information on how to adjust the wheel angle sensor please see your installation guide.
